What does baked oatmeal mean in German?
First of all, an explanation of the term: what actually is baked oatmeal? In German one would say baked porridge – although that’s more Denglish. Then maybe more baked oatmeal. The only difference to the classic oatmeal is that all the ingredients do not cook in the pot after mixing, but are baked in the oven. This creates a creamy core with a slightly crispy top. This delicious oatmeal with berries and peanut butter can either be eaten warm straight from the oven or you can prepare it in the evening and take it to work in the morning. Both taste extremely good. Speaking of which: I can only recommend my “pudding oats” with a liquid filling!
Is Baked Oatmeal Good for Weight Loss?
no Baked oatmeal is not a diet food, but the combination of oatmeal, banana, flaxseed and nuts makes it really filling. The dietary fibers contained stabilize the blood sugar level, ensure a long feeling of satiety and reduce cravings. In addition, the natural ingredients provide you with a lot of micronutrients, which also leads to reduced cravings.
Flaxseeds are full of important omega-3 fatty acids – just like walnuts, if you like to use them. With its high mineral content, date sugar is a healthier and more wholesome alternative to household sugar. Blueberries are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, which are important for your cells. The icing on the cake are the spices, which boost the metabolism and also ensure a stable blood sugar level. So this baked oatmeal recipe can help you avoid constantly reaching for unhealthy snacks throughout the day.

Baked Oatmeal: Peanut butter for protein and creaminess
Are you also a fan of peanut butter? Baked oatmeal is not only particularly tasty with the creamy nut butter, but also richer in protein. In this way, you provide your body with valuable protein in the morning, which also has a high satiety factor. Also great about this recipe: Since the baked oats are made with banana, oatmeal, peanut butter and flaxseed, all three macronutrients are included: high-quality proteins, carbohydrates and fats. My tip for keeping it wholesome: Be sure to buy peanut butter without added sugar. If you don’t have blueberries, you can use other berries. Instead of flaxseeds, you can also prepare the baked oatmeal with chia seeds. And instead of almond milk, any other plant drink works!
