Pumpkin pizza like in Italy: quick and easy
By: Gian Sibilia
Do you also love Italian food so much? I think few people can resist pasta, pizza and tiramisu. But why? The great thing is that you can cook all these things at home and make them even healthier. So my pumpkin pizza takes you to Italy without you having to do a lot of work – and it tastes even better than a vegan pizza from the delivery service!
The special thing about this pumpkin pizza recipe is that we don’t use any yeast at all. This saves you long kneading as well as a long walking time. Who wants to spend hours in the kitchen after work? It can take forever until such a pizza dough is ready – I would like to save you that. You don’t have to compromise on the taste of a pizza without yeast, I promise!

Is pumpkin pizza vegan?
How do you make pizza dough vegan? Is that possible? And whether! Pizza dough consists of flour, water, salt and yeast. Maybe some olive oil, but that’s all there is to the basic recipe. But that doesn’t mean that every pumpkin pizza is vegan. After all, the topping also plays a role and that’s where it gets more difficult in the restaurant. Sour cream, feta, bacon and cheese are popular toppings on the Italian classic. The vegan dough is of no use then. But that’s why we want to do it all ourselves! However, if you are looking for a ready-made product, Nutriplus has great protein pizzas that you can mix yourself.

This is how the pumpkin pizza becomes gluten-free
Did you know that you can also bake pizza without flour? All you really need are two ingredients that harmonize perfectly with each other:
- Oatmeal instead of wheat flour. You can process these in the blender in a flash into a wholesome and gluten-free flour alternative. Also works really well for sweet pastries and is cheaper than buying oatmeal. Try pancakes with oatmeal too!
- Pumpkin puree comes into play so that a smooth dough is created without yeast and oil. This has excellent binding properties and also ensures a special taste. The color of this pizza dough is also impressive – and after all, it’s a feast for the eyes! You can buy it canned or in a jar, or you can make your own pumpkin puree. All you have to do is cook the vegetables in the oven or in water and puree them.
