This  Pumpkin pizza crust recipe is a great alternative to traditional pizza. You can eat it without a guilty conscience because it actually does fantastic in terms of nutritional values. That doesn’t mean you can’t eat pizza anymore;) I just want to introduce you to a healthy alternative. An alternative that is prepared super quickly and shows how great vegan cuisine can be.



  • 175g pumpkin puree
  • 90g ground oats
  • 1 tsp salt and pepper
  • 40g tomato sauce
  • 30g vegan cheese
  • 20g onion
  • fresh basil for garnishing

Pumpkin puree is already available as a finished product, but my feeling tells me it is very, very rare to find in all supermarkets. Apparently the demand is very high. Anyway, the pumpkin is homemade in a few simple steps. We cut a Hokkaido pumpkin in half and remove the seeds. (The seeds can be further processed into roasted pumpkin seeds).
After the pumpkin has been hollowed out, we put it in the oven together with the shell. In the preheated oven he can now bake at 180 degrees for 40 minutes. Then we puree it in a blender or chop it up with a hand blender. Both work fine. Now pour the pumpkin puree into a boiled glass and store in the refrigerator. We do not use spices, so we can also use the pumpkin puree for desserts.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Grind the oats into flour in a dry blender.

Step 2

Add the pumpkin puree, salt and pepper and mix into a batter.


Step 3

Now roll out the dough on baking paper, this is very easy with your hands. Please be careful that the dough does not stick. Either turn the bottom over again, or use a little oil or flour. A silicone mat would be best.

Step 4

Now we can top the pizza with tomato sauce, vegan cheese and onions. Then put the whole thing in the oven at 200 degrees for 15 minutes. The oven should be preheated.

Step 5

Garnish with fresh basil and enjoy this super healthy and tasty dish.
